Women’s Care

When you meet a woman walking on the side of the road in our villages, there is a 70% chance she is without a husband. If she is not a widow, she has been abandoned due to her husband leaving her to find work and never returning. It happens frequently in Kenya. We care about these women. Our goal is to restore their dignity and their hope by providing job creation, skills training AND most importantly, giving them a community rooted in Christ. Most of these women are raising their children alone, so we are seeking solutions where they can work from home and build income through creative business endeavors.

In 2022, we opened the Emmanne Women’s Center in Theri, Kenya! It took us 5 long years of praying, preparing, and raising the funds to remodel an abandoned schoolhouse. This beautiful, 4-room building houses our sewing training facility where women are becoming seamstresses. Our staff are aiding those who need community and support. If a woman (or teen girl) can make their way to us, we will be ready to help them with their specific needs and life challenges.

Our sewing training facility has enabled us to start a new business for the graduates of the sewing program.  It is called Angaza Design and is now helping the seamstresses to make and sell beautiful sewn goods in Kenya and the U.S.  For more information, check out Angaza Design.

The Women’s Center also houses the Solid Rock Theological Library and classroom. First of its kind in the region, the library is filled with donated books from people who were asked to give “the most impactful books” from their own libraries. The result - shelves of books being read by people in rural Kenya who want to grow in their faith and walk with Jesus.
